Want to understand different parts of Amazon's marketplace? Our Subcategory Explorer can help you do that. It shows you information about different product categories on Amazon.

What is the Subcategory Explorer?

The Subcategory Explorer helps you:

  • Find profitable areas to sell in

  • Spot new trends

  • Understand what your competitors are doing

It does this by showing you data about different product categories on Amazon.


How to Use the Subcategory Explorer

1. Use the Treemap

We have an interactive map that shows all of Amazon's categories. Here's how to use it:

  • Start with the big categories

  • Click on a category to see smaller, more specific categories inside it

  • Keep clicking to find very specific product areas


2. Get Category Data

Want to know more about a specific category?

  1. Find the category in the map

  2. Click the three dots next to its name

  3. This will show you detailed information about that category


3. Use Filters

Once you're looking at a category's data, you can use filters to focus on what's important to you. You can filter by things like:

  • How much money products in the category make

  • How many sellers there are

  • Product prices


4. Get More Details

To learn even more about a category:

  1. Click the three dots next to the category name

  2. You'll see three tabs with more information:

Overview Tab

Shows important information like:

  • How much of the sales Amazon makes vs. other sellers

  • How many sellers there are on average

  • How many brands sell in this category

  • The average price of products


Brands Tab

Shows the main brands selling in this category. This helps you know who your competitors might be.


Products Tab

Shows the products in this category. You can see which ones are selling well and how they're priced.
